KATHUA Oct 19:Kathua Police foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling today and rescued nine bovine animals which were smuggled in the State from Punjab side .
According to police, Dy.SP, Ravinder Singh, SDPO Border Division along with Sub Inspector, Vishal, incharge Police Post Marheen today succeeded in foiling bovine smuggling bid and rescued nine bovine animals.
Acting swiftly on tip off, SDPO Border Kathua alongwith team of officer established checkpoint at Labdu Chak Marheen. During checking police seized one truck bearing registration no HP38C-7349 coming from Punjab side in which nine bovine animals were illegally smuggled. In this process Police saved all the bovine animals.
Police registered a case FIR No 242 /2018 U/S 188 RPC, 3 PCA and has started investigation in this regard.
