Bovine smuggling bids foiled; 19 cattle rescued, 2 arrested

JAMMU, July 13: Nagrota Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 19 cattle and arresting three persons.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Police Station Nagrota laid a naka and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK02AF-6215.
During checking, police team rescued 11 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was identified as Mohammad Latief, son of Hamid Ali of Pangali Jagti, Tehsil Nagrota District Doda.
Meanwhile, similar team also rescued 8 bovine animals and arrested two persons, who were identified as Bashir Ahmed alias Golu, son of Abdul Rashid and Barkat Ali alias Billa, son of Noor Hussain, both residents of Kanachack District Jammu. They were smuggling the cattle by foot.
Cases under FIR Numbers 318/2021 and 319/2021 under relevant sections of the law were registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
The arrests and recoveries have been made by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shoket under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh.
