Bovine smuggling bids foiled

UDHAMPUR, Oct 12: Police today foiled two attempts of bovine smuggling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Udhampur and rescued 10 bovines, which were being transported to Kashmir valley.
Reports said that a Police party, headed by Insp Raghubir Singh, SHO Udhampur, under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Udhampur Gurmeet Singh, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK14H 9123, during naka checking.
On physical checking, Police team found eight bovines loaded in the said vehicle without any valid permission. Thereafter all the bovines were rescued and driver of the vehicle, identified as Razaq, son of Karim Din, resident of Sarar, Tehsil Chenani, was arrested on the spot.
In another case, Police party of Police post Roundomail, led by PSI Rahul Jamwal, I/c Police Post, spotted two bovines, which were being taken by the person on foot towards Kashmir without any valid permission. Both the bovines were rescued and the bovine smuggler namely Mushtaq Ahmed son of Mohd Hussain of Mian Bagh Udhampur, was arrested on the spot.
Both the cases were registered at Police Station Udhampur under relevant sections of law.
