Bovine smuggling bids foiled, 47 cattle rescued

RAJOURI, June 16: As many as 47 bovine animals have been rescued with five vehicles seized by police in Rajouri while foiling multiple bovine smuggling bids in last two days.
Official sources said that police teams from Rajouri Police Station, foiled nine bovine smuggling bids across Rajouri in last two days. Five vehicles being used for smuggling have also been seized. Three of these bids have been foiled in area of Police Post Chingus while other six in area of Rajouri Police Station.
The police seized Tata Mobile vehicles bearing Registration No. JK02AK- 6181, JK11B – 8285 and JK11D- 8142, loaded with bovine animals going from Nowshera and Rajouri towards Behramgala and Kashmir. In this regard case FIR No 266/2023, 273/2023 & 274/2023, 276/2023 & 277/2023 u/s 188 IPC 11; FIR No 270/2023 4/5 188 IPC, FIR No 279/2023 4/5 188 IPC, FIR No 280/2023 4/5 188 IPC FIR NO. 281/2023 4/5 188 IPC PCA Act got registered. A total 33 bovine animal were rescued and 07 bovine smuggler arrested in connection with the instant cases identified as Ghulam Rasool, son of Farman Ali from Badhoon; Mohd Latief, son of Mohd Ismail from Prat Sunderbani; Mohd Anwar, son of Abdul Rashid from Behrote, Thanamandi; Ramiz Mohd, son of Andul Ghani from Khablan in Thanamandi; Atif Shabir, son of Shabir Ahmed from Khablan in Thanamandi; Mohd Bashir, son of Mohd Azam from Muradpur in Rajouri; Sanjeev Kumar, son of Kesar Lal from Bajnava in Nowshera.
Nine cases in relevant sections of law have been registered while many bovine smugglers have been arrested with 47 bovines have been rescued from their clutches, the police.
