JAMMU, Aug 22: Bishnah police foiled bovines smuggling bid and rescued 16 bovine animals.
As per police sources, during checking at Mehmoodpur, a team from Bishnah police station signaled a truck bearing registration number JK02AG-0964 to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the driver accelerated the vehicle and escaped from the spot. Stinking something fishy, the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle barely some distance from the naka point.
During checking, police rescued 16 bovine animals from the truck, while the smugglers managed to escape from the spot taking benefit of the darkness.
A case under FIR Number 183/17 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Bishnah police station and investigation started.
