JAMMU, Oct 28: Thakrai police foiled bovines smuggling bid by rescuing two cattle and arresting two persons, a police official said.
The arrested persons have been identified as Ishtiyaq Ahmed, son of Mohammad Rafiq of Sigdi Pahalgam and Akhtar Hussain, son of Ghulam Hussain of Deller Chhatroo.
They were trying to smuggle bovines to Kashmir from Kishtwar via Chatroo, but police foiled their bid and arrested them, official added.
A case under FIR Number 218/17 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Kishtwar and investigation started.
A team from Police Post Thakrai led by ASI Qasim Din made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Kishtwar Inspector Sameer Jillani and SSP Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary.
