Bovines smuggling bid foiled, 2 vehicles seized

RAJOURI, May 10:  The police today foiled an attempt of  some people to smuggle bovine animals  to Kashmir  via Mughal Road and seized two vehicles in Thannamandi area of  Rajouri district.
A police spokesman while giving details said that acting on the basis of some inputs, SHO Thannamandi Nazir Ahmed Dar, laid a naka on Rajouri-Thannamandi-Bafliaz road in  today evening.  During checking of vehicles on the road, two Tata Mobile vehicles bearing registration Numbers, JK11B/ 8588 and JK-11B/ 7874 were intercepted. The drivers of the vehicles tried to escape from the spot but they both were nabbed by the police men after chase.
During checking of the vehicles, eight bovine animals were found being smuggled to Kashmir via Mughal Road. The police seized the vehicles along cattle and registered a case in this connection.  Both the drivers have been arrested and further investigation is in progress.
