UDHAMPUR, June 4: Police today foiled bovines smuggling bid by rescuing 5 cattle and arrested a driver.
As per police sources, a team from Udhampur Police Station laid a naka at Jakheni and intercepted a truck.
During checking, police rescued 5 cattle from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Mohammad Rashid, son of Kaka, a resident of tehsil Dansal, district Jammu.
A case under FIR number 239/18 under Section 420, 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Udhampur Inspector Vijay Choudhary made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Kulbir Handa and Additional SP Udhampur Faisal Qureshi.
