Bovines smuggling bid foiled, 5 cattle rescued

JAMMU, Mar 16: Akhnoor police foiled bovine animals smuggling bid by rescuing five cattle.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Akhnoor police station laid a naka at Sungal Morh and signaled a Mahindra vehicle bearing registration number JK02BM-2312 to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the driver accelerated the vehicle and escaped from the spot. Stinking something fishy, the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle but taking benefit of the darkness, the smugglers escaped from the spot.
During checking, police rescued 5 bovine animals from the vehicle and seized it on the spot.
A case under FIR Number 46/16 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Akhnoor police station and manhunt has been launched to nab the bovine smugglers.
Police team led by SHO Akhnoor police station Inspector Pushpinder Singh foiled the bovines smuggling bid under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Gurvinder Pal Singh and Additional SP Rural Arun Gupta.
