Bovines smuggling bid foiled; 5 cattle rescued, driver arrested

JAMMU, Apr 1: Pounichak police foiled bovines smuggling bid by rescuing 5 cattle and arresting a driver.
As per police sources, a team from Pounichak police post laid a naka and signaled a Mahindra vehicle bearing registration number JK02BR-7624 to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the driver accelerated the vehicle and escaped from the spot. Stinking something fishy, the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle. During checking, police rescued 5 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Binia, son of Fazal Din, a resident of District Ramban.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Domana police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Pounichak police post SI Sumit Magotra made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Domana Inspector Rattan Singh Rana, SDPO Domana Verinder Singh and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
