JAMMU, Oct 18: Chowki Choura Police foiled bovines smuggling bid.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Chowki Choura Police Post laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK21-4381.
During checking, police team rescued 26 bovine animals from the truck and arrested the driver along with his associate.
The arrested persons were identified as Mulkh Raj, son of Faqir Chand of tehsil RS Pura District Jammu and Garu Ram, son of Tara Chand of Raipur Satwari, District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 180/2020 under Section 188 IPC and 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
