Bovines smuggling bid foiled, one arrested

UDHAMPUR, June 26: Police foiled bovines smuggling bid by rescuing 29 cattle and arresting one person.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Udhampur Police Station laid a naka at Jakheni and intercepted a Srinagar bound truck bearing registration number JK02P-8133.
During checking, police rescued 29 cattle from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Riyaz Ahmed alias Raju, son of Abdul Majeed, a resident of Champa, Batote, District Ramban.
A case under FIR Number 289/18 under Sections 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Udhampur Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Udhampur Inspector Vijay Singh Choudhary foiled the bovines smuggling bid under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Udhampur Kulbir Handa and Additional SP Udhampur Faisal Qureshi.
