JAMMU, Apr 5: Jhajjar Kotli and Ghagwal police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 25 cattle and arresting two persons.
As per police sources, a team from Jhajjar Kotli Police Station laid a naka and intercepted a Srinagar bound truck bearing registration number JK02BG-7385.
During checking, police rescued 14 cattle from the vehicle and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Umar Sayed, son of Bashir Mohammad of district Rajouri and Mulkh Raj, son of Fakir Chand, a resident of Chak Mohammad Yar, tehsil RS Pura.
A case under FIR Number 26/18 has been registered at Jhajjar Kotli Police Station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Ghagwal Police Station intercepted a truck at Tapyal and rescued 11 cattle from the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot.
A case under FIR Number 56/18 has been registered at Ghagwal Police Station and investigation started.
