JAMMU, Apr 9: Jhajjar Kotli and Bishnah police under ‘Operation Kandhenu’ foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 12 cattle and arresting three persons.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Jhajjar Kotli Police Station laid a naka at Salora and intercepted a Srinagar bound truck bearing registration number JK02X-9487.
During checking, police rescued 10 cattle from the vehicle and arrested one person, while the driver managed to escape from the spot.
The arrested person has been identified as Jaffar Hussain (conductor), son of Abdul Rashid of Pul Doda District Doda.
A case under FIR Number 27/18 under Sections 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Bishnah Police Station laid a naka and intercepted a vehicle.
Police rescued 2 cattle from the vehicle and nabbed two persons, who have been identified as Junaid Ali, son of Ghuma Din, a resident of Sunjwan Sainik Colony and Subash Din, son of Mohammad Mahli, a resident of Indra Colony, RS Pura.
A case under FIR Number 73/18 has been registered at Bishnah Police Station and investigation started.
