Bovines smuggling bids foiled

JAMMU, Jan 17: Police foiled bovines smuggling bids.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Post Jourian led by Kunal Singh laid a naka at Muthi and intercepted a load carrier bearing registration number JK14C-1742.
During checking, police team rescued 2 bovine animals from the vehicle, which were being transported from District Jammu towards adjoining district Rajouri and arrested two persons.
The arrested persons were identified as Muneer Hussain, son of Maqbool and Mohammad Gafar, son of Ismail, both residents of Mawa Tehsil Sunderbani District Rajouri.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Post Chowki Choura led by SI Ankuj Bhagat laid a naka and intercepted two Mahindra load carriers.
During checking, police team rescued 4 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested two persons, who were identified as Abdul Sakul, son of Ghulam Mohammad of Channi Parat Tehsil Sunderbani District Rajouri and Mohammad Azam, son of Abdul Hussain of Pouni District Reasi.
Cases under FIR Numbers 13/2021, 14/2021 and 15/2021 have been registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
The operations were carried out under the supervision of SHO Akhnoor Inspector Ravi Parihar and SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial.
However, a team from Police Post Basantpur led by Inspector Sikander Singh intercepted a canter bearing registration number UP11T-1074 coming from Lakhanpur via Magar Khad towards Basantpur.
During checking, police team rescued 14 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested two persons, who were identified as Hajur Din, son of Gulab Din of Ghatti District Kathua and Mashoom Ali, son of Kaku of Dinanagar Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 8 /2021 has been registered at Police Station Lakhanpur and investigation started.
