Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 20 cattle rescued, one arrested

JAMMU, May 6: Police foiled bovine smuggling bids and rescued 20 cattle.
As per police sources, a team from Kathua Police Station laid a naka at Magar Khad and intercepted a truck bearing registration number  JK14A 6265.
During checking, police rescued 15 bovine animals and arrested the truck driver, who has been identified as Mohammad Aslam, son of Lal Din, a resident of tehsil Kalakote, district Rajouri.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Kathua Police Station and further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by Ajay Sharma, Dy SP Headquarter Kathua made the arrest under the supervision of SSP Kathua Neeva Jain.
Meanwhile, Chatha police also foiled bovines smuggling bid by rescuing five animals.
On reliable information, a team from Chatha police station laid a naka and signaled a vehicle bearing registration number JK02BN-4886 for checking.
On seeing police cops, the driver accelerated the vehicle and escaped from the spot. Stinking something fishy, the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle near some distance from the naka point, but the driver managed to escape from the spot taking benefit of the darkness.
During checking, police rescued five bovine animals and seized the vehicle.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Satwari police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Police Post Chatha SI Krishan Raina foiled the bovines smuggling bid under the supervision of SHO Satwari Inspector Manjit Singh, SDPO South Sachin Gupta and SP South Shaazad Salaria.
