Bovines smuggling bids foiled, 26 cattle rescued

RAJOURI, July 7: The police foiled three bovines smuggling bids and rescued 26 cattle from the clutches of smugglers in district Rajouri since last night.
Official sources said that during intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, a Tata Mobile No. JK12/ 3831 was intercepted by team of Nowshera police headed by SHO Amit Singh under the supervision of Sub Divisional Police Officer Nowshera Zakir Shaheen Mirza.
During checking eight bovines were found loaded mercilessly in the vehicle. The cattle were rescued while two smugglers identified as Mohammad Imran, son of Mohammad Shabir, resident of Rajdhani Thanamandi and Sheraz Ahmed, son of Mohammad Latif, resident of Khablan Thanamandi have been arrested.
A case under relevant sections of law have been registered against them by police.
Meanwhile, police in Thanamandi and Manjakote also foiled two bovine smuggling bids in their respective area and rescued eighteen (18) bovines during early today. The cases were registered in this connection against the smugglers.
