Bovines smuggling bids foiled

JAMMU, June 2: Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 31 cattle and arrested four persons.
As per police sources, teams from Police Stations Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli laid nakas in their respective jurisdictions and intercepted three vehicles bearing registration numbers JK03H-1845, JK21F-1845 and JK13C-8315.
During checking, police teams rescued 31 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested four persons, who were identified as Fasil Mubarik Bhat, son of Mubarik Ahmed Bhat of District Kulgam, Rayees Ahmed Bhat, son of Mohammad Azad Bhat of District Kulgam, Mohammad Hanif, son of Wazir Hussain of District Samba and Sajad Ahmed, son of Mohammad Altaf of District Anantnag.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Stations Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
The arrests were made by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shoket and SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Devinder Singh under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh.
