JAMMU, July 22: Nagrota Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 32 cattle and arresting 4 smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Nagrota Police Station laid a naka and intercepted three vehicles bearing registration numbers JK02AB-8677, JK02AF-0445 and JK19-7824.
During checking, police team rescued 32 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrssted four persons, who were identified as Tofin Nisar, son of Nisar Hussain of Belicharana District Jammu, Mushtaq Ahmed, son of Abdul Latief of Gadigarh District Jammu, Mohammad Ibrahim, son of Mirbaz of Belicharana District Jammu and Liaqat Ali, son of Mohammad Shafi of Belicharana District Jammu.
Cases under FIR Numbers 289/2020, 290/2020 and 291/2020 under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shoket made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma and SP Rural Jammu Suram Singh.
