Bovines smuggling bids foiled

RAMBAN, Nov 5: Banihal and Ramsoo Police foiled bovines smuggling bids.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Banihal laid a naka and intercepted some vehicles.
During checking, police team rescued 23 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested five persons.
Cases FIR Numbers 193/2021, 194/2021, 195/2021, 196/2021 and 197/2021 under Sections 188 IPC 11 PCA Act were registered at Police Station Banihal and investigation set into motion.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Ramsoo laid a naka and signalled a Mahindra Pickup vehicle bearing registration number JK14H-1272 to stop for checking.
On seeing cops, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape from the spot. The driver failed to control the vehicle and it turned turtle on road near Panthyal.
Cops rushed to the spot and rescued 5 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was identified as Mohammad Saleem, son of Mohammad Rashid, a resident of Jaganoo District Udhampur.
A case FIR Number 127/2021 under Sections 279 and 188 IPC and 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ramsoo and investigation started.
