JAMMU, June 21: Jhajjar Kotli, Lakhanpur and Bhagwah police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 37 cattle and arresting 2 persons.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Jhajjar Kotli Police Station laid a naka at Suketar and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK21B-7585.
During checking, police rescued 16 cattle from the vehicle and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Rashpal Singh, son of Joginder Singh of Chandu Chak, RS Pura and Mashkoor Ahmed, son of Mohammad Iqbal, a resident of Gole Gujaral, Talab Tillo.
A case under FIR Number 54/18 under Sections 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered at Jhajjar Kotli Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Ajay Singh Chib foiled the bovines smuggling under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Yashbir Singh Slathia and SP Rural Dushyant Sharma.
Meanwhile, a team from Lakhanpur Police Station led by SHO Inspector Sushil Sharma rescued 14 bovine animals from a truck and seized it, while the accused managed to escape from the spot.
A case under FIR number 58/18 under Sections 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered at Lakhanpur Police Station and investigation started.
In another similar incident, a team from Bhagwah Police Post rescued 7 bovine animals, while the three accused identified as Mohammad Qasim, son of Abdullah of Sisarwar Bhagwah, Fayaz Ahmed, son of Noor Ahmed Paray of Machaar and Javed Ahmed, son of Mohammad Yusuf Hajam of Bhaata Bhagwah fled away from the spot by taking advantage of darkness and benefits of dense forests.
A case under FIR Number 102/18 under Sections 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Doda Police Station and hunt has been launched to arrest the cattle smugglers.
Police team led by Incharge Bhagwah Police Post SI Lekh Raj foiled the bovines smuggling bid under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Doda Iftkhar Ahmed and SSP Doda Mohammad Shabir.
