Bovines smuggling bids foiled

RAMBAN, Feb 3: Batote, Chanderkote and Ramban Police under ‘Operation Kamdhenu’ foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 67 cattle.
As per police sources, during intervening night of February 2 and 3, police teams from Police Stations Batote, Chanderkote and Ramban intercepted four vehicles bearing registration numbers JK13-2067, HP11-4861, JK03F-5629 and JK02AT-0665 which were on their way from Jammu towards Srinagar.
During checking, police teams rescued 67 bovine animals and seized the vehicles.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Stations Batote, Chanderkote and Ramban and investigation started.
Police teams led by SHO Ramban Inspector Sandeep Charak, SHO Chanderkote Inspector Afzal Wani and SHO Batote Inspector Ajeet Singh foiled the bovines smuggling bids under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Pardeep Singh Sen and SP Ramban Mohita Sharma.
