Bovines smuggling bids foiled

JAMMU, Feb 22: Jhajjar Kotli and Atholi Police foiled bovines smuggling bids.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Devinder Singh laid a naka and intercepted two vehicles.
During checking, police team rescued 7 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested four cattle smugglers, who were identified as Pappu, son of Abdul Gani of Javed Nagar Belicharana, Mohd Fareed, son of Shah Mohd of Sidhra Jammu, Bilal Ahmed, son of Mohd Ayub of District Kulgam and Abi Hussain, son of Mir Ali of Dhammi Jhajjar Kotli.
Cases under FIR Numbers 40/2022 and 41/2022 under Sections 188 IPC and 11 PCA Act have been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
The bovines smuggling bids were foiled under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar and SP Rural Jammu Sanjay Sharma.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Atholi led by SHO Inspector Vikas Jasrotia under the supervision of SDPO Atholi Vikram Singh laid a naka and intercepted a vehicle.
During frisking, police team rescued 5 bovine animals and arrested two persons.
A case under FIR Number 06/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Atholi and investigation initiated.
