JAMMU, May 10: Sidhra and Gharota police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 20 cattle and arresting five persons.
As per police sources, during checking, teams from Sidhra Police Post intercepted two vehicles.
During checking, police rescued 18 cattle from the vehicles and arrested four persons, who have been identified as Sulaiman Khan, son of Jamaat Ali of Dwara, Ramzaan Ali, son of Rehmat Ali of Bamlia Nagrota, Jammu, Shamasdin, son of Ghulam Rasool of Dwara and Razak Ali, son of Jamat Ali of Dwara, Jammu.
Meanwhile, on specific information, a team from Gharota Police Station laid a naka and intercepted a Tata Mobile.
During checking, police rescued two cattle from the vehicle and arrested one person, who has been identified as Farooq of Simblewala.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Nagrota and Gharota Police Stations and investigation started.
