JAMMU, Jan 3: Nagrota Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by arresting five persons.
As per police sources, during checking a team from Police Station Nagrota led by SHO Inspector Vishav Pratap Singh intercepted three vehicles bearing registration numbers JK02CN-5243, JK02CU-1566 and JK14E-6012.
During checking, police team rescued 13 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested five persons, who were identified as Mohd Hanief of RS Pura District Jammu, Amir Hussain of District Anantnag, Sadam Husain of District Reasi, Mohd Sadiq of Qazigund and Mohd Gafoor of District Udhampur.
Cases under relevant Sections were registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation initiated.
The arrests and recoveries were made under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma.
