Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 57 cattle rescued, 3 arrested

DODA, Apr 17: Nagrota, Jhajjar Kolti and Goha police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 57 cattle and arresting three persons.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Nagrota Police Station foiled two bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 30 cattle and arresting two persons.
The accused have been identified as Mohammad Shafiq, son of Mohammad Iqbal, a resident of district Rajouri and Mohammad Maqbool, son of Farooq Ahmed, a resident of Bagger, district Doda.
Cases under FIR Number 87/18 and 88/18 have been registered at Nagrota Police Station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Jhajjar Kotli Police Station during checking rescued 19 cattle from a Srinagar bound truck and arrested the driver.
The accused has been identified as Mohammad Ashraf, son of Mohammad Juma, a resident of Pahalgam, Kashmir.
A case under FIR Number 30/18 has been registered at Jhajjar Kotli Police Station and investigation started.
In another incident, a team from Goha Police Post laid a naka at Bindi Talab in top forest area in Marmat and intercepted three persons carrying flock of cattle.
On seeing police cops, the persons escaped from the spot, while police rescued eight cattle, which they were trying to smuggle.
A case under FIR Number 57/18 under Sections 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Doda Police Station and hunt has been launched to nab the bovines’ smugglers.
