Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 60 cattle rescued, 3 persons arrested

JAMMU, Sept 7: Dessa and Ramban Police rescued 60 bovine animals and arrested three persons.
As per official spokesman, during the intervening night of September 5 and 6, a team from Police Station Dessa/Operation Group Bhata led by Inspector Inderpal Singh under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Doda Iftkhar Ahmed, SP Operations Doda Ravinder Pal Singh and SSP Doda Shabir Ahmed Malik laid a naka at Dubhagi Gali Dessa and intercepted a person carrying flock of bovine animals.
During questioning, the person failed to give satisfactory reply about carrying of bovine animals and police arrested him. 40 cattle were rescued from the clutches of the bovine smuggler.
The accused has been identified as Mohammad Saleem alias Gulshan, son of Ghulam Haider, a resident of Bharat District Doda.
A case under FIR Number 16/2018 under Sections 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Dessa and investigations started.
Meanwhile, a team from Ramban Police Station led by Inspector Vijay Kotwal under the supervision of DySP HQ Ramban Asgar Malik, Additional SP Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma laid a surprise naka near Digdol.
During checking of vehicles, a truck bearing registration number JK02AA-8579 was intercepted and during search it was found loaded with bovine animals which were being illegally transported towards Kashmir.
All the 20 bovine animals have been rescued and two persons were arrested, who have been identified as Shakor Ahmed, son of Bashir Ahmed, of Akhnoor District Jammu and Mohammad Hanif, son of Mohammad Yousuf of Belicharana District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 131/18 under Sections 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation started to ascertain the source and other persons involved in the crime.
