Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 61 cattle rescued, 6 smugglers arrested

JAMMU, Dec 20: Nagrota police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 61 cattle and arresting 6 smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Nagrota Police Station laid a naka and intercepted four vehicles bearing registration number JK02AE-7205, JK02AL-6787, JK02X-0951 and JK02AT-7334.
During checking, police team rescued 61 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested six smugglers, who have been identified as Sama Singh, son of Bhajan Dass and Sabi Singh, son of Pritam Singh, both residents of Punjab, Onkar Singh, son of Jarnail Singh and Sukhdev Singh, son of Lal Singh, both residents of Chak Mohammad Yaar Tehsil RS Pura District Jammu, Nazir Ahmed, son of Mohammad Kasim of Khari Tehsil Banihal District Ramban and Irshad Ahmed, son of Shamusdin of Chamalbas Tehsil Banihal District Ramban.
Cases under FIR Numbers 467/19, 468/19,469/19 and 470/19 under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shoket foiled the bovines smuggling bids and arrested the smugglers under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma.
