Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 65 cattle rescued, 5 smugglers arrested

JAMMU, Jan 20: Nagrota, Manwal and Ramban police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 65 cattle and arresting 5 smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Nagrota Police Station led by SHO Inspector Mohammad Shokat under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number PB11AS-9783.
During checking, police team rescued 25 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested two smugglers, who have been identified as Nazir Ahmed, son of Mohammad Munshi of Camp Gole Gujral District Jammu and Sadaam Hussain, son of Mohammad Rafiq of Maralian Miran Sahib District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 23/2020 under relevant Sections of law has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Manwal Police Post under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma laid a naka and rescued 14 bovine animals from a truck bearing registration number JK02AT-4287.
Police team also arrested two cattle smugglers, who were identified as Adison, son of Robet Gull of Pathankot Punjab and Mohammad Sharief, son of Masoom Ali of Fatehpur, District Pathankot Punjab.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Jhajjar Kotli Police Station and investigation initiated.
In another similar incident, a team from Ramban Police Station led by SHO Inspector Sunil Sharma under the supervision of Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma laid a naka and intercepted a Srinagar bound truck.
During frisking, police team rescued 26 bovine animals from the truck and arrested one person, who has been identified as Jamal Ali, son of Mohammad Shafi, a resident of Ragoora Sidhra District Jammu.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Ramban Police Station and investigation started.
