Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 75 cattle rescued, 7 arrested

JAMMU, June 3: Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 75 cattle and arresting seven persons.
As per police sources, teams from Police Stations Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli during checking intercepted seven vehicles bearing registration numbers JK02AQ-5235, JK02CC-4016, JK02CR-3319, JK06-1640, AS01GC-2377, JK11A-1505 and JK02AC-6281.
During checking, police team rescued 75 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested seven persons, who were identified as Mohammad Mirza, son of Bashir Ahmed of District Ramban, Imran ul Bashir, son of Bashir Ahmed of Gool District Ramban, Abdul Khan, son of Mian of Kalyanpur Chenani, Amardev, son of Sanjid Dev of Assam, Shahwali, son of Ibrahim of District Ramban, Wasid Iqbal, son of Abdul Aziz of Dhara District Rajouri and Arshad Ahmed, son of Mohammad Iqbal of Rajdhani, District Rajouri.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Stations Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
Police teams led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shoket and SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Devinder Singh made the arrests under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh.
