Boy dies in fire cracker explosion

KATHUA, Nov 14: A 6-year-old boy was killed in a fire-cracker explosion during Diwali at Dhanni village last evening.
A police spokesman said that incident took place  when boy Lovish Verma, son of Raj Kumar, resident of Dhanni in Kathua was firing crackers using a candle at home on Diwali. He held a large explosive in  hand and tried to lit its wick with burning candle. The fire cracker exploded in hand and it caused deep wound on  neck of the boy. He was rushed to Kathua hospital but he succumbed to injuries  after some time.
Meanwhile, 65-year-old Chhaju Ram resident of Mirpur village received serious injuries after he was hit by a bus on National Highway near Chhani this evening. He was rushed to hospital where doctors declared him as dead. The police seized the bus and registered a case in this connection.
