SAMBA, Sept 21: A 9th class student drowned in a nallah while bathing at village Taloor in district Samba this afternoon.
The deceased identified as Manjit Kumar (14), son of Mohan Lal from village Daboh had gone to school. The boy after school was playing with other boys in the nearby play-field. On way to his home, the boy along with a few other boys of locality started bathing in a nallah. He moved into a deep pondage of still water created due to recent rains in the nallah, slipped into it and drowned.
The other boys raised alarm but could not help him immediately. A villager however, fished him out. The family members also reached there and the boy was rushed to nearby hospital where doctors declared him as brought dead.
