JAMMU, June 11: A boy drowned in Ravi Canal falling under the jurisdiction of Kathua Police Station.
According to the police, a teenager namely Tarun Kumar (17) son of Vijay Kumar resident of ward number 2, Kathua has gone to Ravi Canal for taking a bath along with his friends. As he came in contact of fast flowing water, he could not control himself, got drifted in water and drowned. But his other friends managed to come out of the canal safely.
After a hard search, his body could not be traced by police which hired divers to trace the body. The searches were done but his body was not traced till last reports came in.
Meanwhile police has taken cognizance of the matter and also registered a case under relevant Sections of the law.
