Boy injured in teargas shell explosion

Srinagar, Mar 5: A teenage boy was injured after a teargas shell with whom he was playing exploded in his hand at Rainawari area of Old City here.
A police official said the 15 year old, Muhammad Iqbal, had taken a teargas shell fired by security forces yesterday at Nowhatta area during stone-throwing clashes to his home and today it exploded while he was fiddling with it.
“He sustained injuries in his hand due to shell explosion and he was rushed to Bone and Joints Hospital at Barzulla where from he was referred to Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura where he is being treated upon,” the official said, adding that his condition is stated to be stable.
