JAMMU, Jan 9: A boy was killed in an accidental grenade blast at village Thanna Mang in Darhal area of Rajouri district. He has been identified as Manzoor Hussain, 17, son of Shamas Dan, a resident of Thanna Mang.
Reports said the boy was grazing cattle at village Thanna Mang this afternoon when he noticed an object and started fiddling with it. The grenade exploded leading to powerful explosion in which the boy was killed.
Police parties rushed to the spot along with forensic experts. Body of the boy was taken to hospital and handed over to the family after post-mortem.
The forensic experts have seized splinters of the explosive device to ascertain its nature though it seemed to be a grenade.
Police have registered a case and was investigating the matter.
