RAJOURI, May 1: A young boy was killed after he was knocked down by a tipper in Kheora area of Rajouri town today.
A police spokesman identified the deceased as Bilal (17), son of Miser Hussain, resident of Tattapani in Kalakote and at present Bela Colony, Rajouri. He was student of class 11th in a local school here. The boy had gone to deliver wedding cards in the nearby locality.
Police said when Bilal was moving along the road, some stray dogs started barking and chasing him. In panic the boy ran towards road and a Tipper coming from backside knocked him down on the road causing serious injuries. The police and locals rushed the boy to District Hospital, where doctors declared him as dead. His body was sent for postmortem to the mortuary.
The police said that vehicle has been seized and its driver arrested. A case FIR has been registered in this connection.
