How many animals break their limbs daily in our country either due to accidents on otherwise, none keeps a count or finds anywhere in news headline. Why to speak of animals, how many thousands of men due to unforeseen circumstances, accidents or violence are seriously wounded, if not losing their limbs and breaking bones but that all is a routine but Shaktiman, the horse of Uttrakhand become the focal point of importance and attained political attraction. It is alleged that horse mounted Policemen were wielding lathis on BJP workers and one of them, a legislator struck the road with his lathi which frightened the horse on which we seated a policeman. The horse broke his hind leg because of the commotion over there.
In UP last week a boy was killed with a joy bullet fired by a worker of Samajwadi Party as he was celebrating some poll victory but not only the boy did not get any help on the spot, he was not treated fairly and speedily at the hospital resulting in his death. His death did not attract as much importance as the Shaktiman horse. Poor boy and lucky Shaktiman.
