This has reference to the article “Why to Boycott Bollywood” published in DE dated 31 Jan 2023. The author has bravely exposed the ongoing scenario in Bollywood. Once upon a time movies or cinema was considered a great source of entertainment and many great people called it “Mirror of Society”. But now movies are produced less for entertainment and more for making money at any cost without honouring the sentiments of society. Now-a- days obscenity, rape, crime, indecent dialogues, vulgar songs etc. are the ingredients of Bollywood movies. Web series are even worse of them. One cannot watch movie or web series of his/her choice with family. Besides, worst thing is to hurt the religious sentiments of people. From time to time Bollywood has hurt the religious sentiments of almost each and every religious community in India in many forms. Censor Board seems to be in deep slumber. Appropriate steps should be taken by our govt. by suitable legislature.
