Boys, Girls from rural areas more serious for academics: VC

JAMMU, Nov 9: Vice Chancellor, Jammu University, Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar stated that boys and girls from rural areas are more serious with a greater urge for academics than their counterparts from metros.
He said this, while distributing certificates of voluntary work and participation during Volunteers of CESI International Conference hosted by University of Jammu. Renu Nanda, Conference organizing secretary and joint secretary CESI was also present.
Prof Ishar shared his vision and perceptions about academic endeavours of students of Jammu Region and also shared his own student life experiences with the volunteers.
Volunteers interacted with Vice Chancellor giving him the details of their work and experiences of working with delegates, guests and special invitees. The students gave a brief of pre conference workshop and the lessons learnt by them from this experience.
The volunteers also talked about the conference and their contribution in different ways at various places.
The volunteers who were awarded certificates were Sajad Hussain, Anil Sharma, Rakesh Chib, Virender, Manjit, Vinod, Meenakshi, Sheetal, Princy, Shazia, Menakshy, Sheetal, Rimmi, Deepali, Deepika, Sangeeta, Kusum, Gurmeet, Manju, Neha, Sukriti, Suman, Vijyalakshmi and Mubashar from different Post Graduate Departments of Jammu University.
Jai Kumar, OSD Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the volunteers and shared his perceptions on academic seriousness.
Volunteers enjoyed the time spent with Prof Ishar and thanked him for giving them an opportunity to personally give the certificates and encourage their voluntary efforts in the conference.
