JAMMU, Aug 26: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), in another customer friendly initiative, rolled out J&K’s first All Women Petrol Pump at Police Pariwar, Retail Outlet in Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
The inauguration of the Petrol Pump was today done by Dr SD Singh, IGP Jammu zone, who while speaking on the occasion, appealed the customers to avail the services of this Retail Outlet.

BPCL’s Territory Manager, Rajesh Sharma, in his recent visit to this petrol pump had proposed to convert it into All Women Petrol Pump during day time and extend the fuel services round the clock. Following this, IGP Jammu Zone, Dr SD Singh arranged the placement of women staff and displaced male staff got accommodated by converting this Retail Outlet to “24 hours Open Retail Outlet”.
While speaking on the inauguration ceremony, Rajesh Sharma, Territory Manager (Retail), J&K, informed the gathering about the success story of BPCL’s association with J&K police by way of running five such petrol pumps in Jammu division since more than a decade.
He further briefed that these petrol pumps have created a brand of trust among masses and a special scheme for women commuters shall be a regular affair at this “All Women 24 hours Petrol Pump”.
Meanwhile, women officers from administration launched a scheme “Empowering Women-Empowering Nation’ for women drivers whereby female drivers on filling fuel worth Rs 2000 can avail an assured gift during 10 am to 5 pm.
