BPVM organizes ‘Colours of Gharana’

JAMMU, Apr 26:  2200 pictures of Gharana Birds and wetland concerning were shown on projector, in a function ‘Colours of Gharana’ organized by Bharat Pratibha Vikas Mandal (BPVM) in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art culture and languages at KL Saigal Hall, here this evening on the occasion of World Migratory Birds Day.
All the pictures shown there, were clicked by Guldev Raj in odd circumstances from 2005 to April 2013. Lifestyle of 51 Water fouls species including new added birds Tufted Ducks and long tailed duck were displayed in well manners.
Beside this Corvus frugilegus (ROOK) in the border area and White Crows (albino) in Gharana were the main attraction. The program also highlighted the issue of wetland.
Gulchain Singh Charak, AICC incharge of Punjab and Bihar & former Minister, who was the chief guest, underlined the importance of Gharana wetland in his speech and assured that he will raise the issue in Delhi to conserve this land.
AK Singh, Chief Wildlife Warden, OP Vidharithy , CCF Eco Tourism Wildlife and Dr CM Seth, chairperson, WWF, J&K were the guest of honours while Audiya Kumar Manawa, president, J&K Prajapati Sabha, Wildlife Warden, Raja Sayeed  and VHP State President, Dr Rama Kant Dubey were the special guests.
On the occasion seven persons were awarded with Wildlife Award 2012-13.
Those who were awarded includes Dr Rakesh Gupta, Vet Surgeon (For his well service in wildlife hospital/ Sub Centre), Devendra Choudhary of RS Pura (for Awareness of Gharana Wetland) , Wildlife Warden Raja Sayeed (For well service in wildlife), Manjeet Singh (for protecting a migratory Duck), Shweta Pandita ( for conservation of wildlife), Sunita Bangotra (For Awareness of Gharana Wetland) and HS Gill ( For his co-operation in wildlife protection ).
