JAMMU, Jan 31: Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha Channi Himmat organized a “Samman Samaroh” function at Vivekanand Park, Sector No. 3 in Channi Himmat, Jammu.
The event brought together students, artists, Vedic scholars, heads of various religious and social organizations, poets, prominent personalities and media personnel on one platform. The event was graced by the President DBPS V P Sharma, Lalit Sharma (Retd IFS), O P Dubey (Retd Chief Engineer), Soujanya Sharma (Retd JMC Commissioner) and Convenor of Channi Himmat Unit Sunil Sharma.
Speaking on the occasion, Ved Prakash Sharma and others stressed on giving due recognition to the Brahmins who have done a lot for the society and country. Sabha lauded the efforts of the NMC chief Subash Shastri, Ashok Khajuria of BVP and Yash Paul Sharma and others for their contribution in the field of upliftment of downtrodden classes and social work. They were felicitated with the presentation of mementoes.
Speaking on the occasion, Captain Lalit Sharma lauded the efforts of the Channi Himmat Brahman Sabha for arranging such a colourful “Samman Samaroh” especially with the presence of so many students in particular.
After the address of other speakers, Sunil Sharma, convenor Channi Himmat Brahman Sabha, stressed on propagation of moral values among Brahmins, eradication of Nasha which is rapidly flourishing among youth and celebration of different occasions viz Parshuram Jayanti, National days and Sanskritic events and upkeeping of Dogra culture and heritage with unity and coordination.
Others, included Dr Vijay Sharma, Bhoomi Chand Sharma, Chanchal Pal Sharma, Diwakar Khajuria, O P Sharma, Girija Sharma, Bhuvneshwari Sharma, Prem Sharma, P N Koul, Inder Kumar Sharma, Chaman Lal Sharma, Rajinder Mehta, Rohit Kumar, Vishal Sharma, Sonam Sharma, Yash Paul Sharma, V S Dubey, Vibhuda Sadhotra were present on the occasion.
