Brahman Sabha for curtailing expenditure on marriages

JAMMU, Oct 7: Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha in a meeting held today under the chairmanship its president Ved Parkash Sharma, has expressed deep concern over the wasteful expenditure being incurred by the communities in marriage parties and in the shape of dowry and demanded that these should be curtailed as this is a social menace spreading with alarming pace.
Addressing the meeting other speakers expressed their view on this social evil said that the practice should be discouraged consciously which has very negative effect on poor strata of the society. It was unanimously decided in the meeting that DBP Sabha will start campaign in this behalf so that the community was brought out of this evil.
Sharma appealed to the other communities to come forward and take incentive to get rid of this growing evil.
However Sabha endorsed the statement of CPDS Minister who has already expressed their views over this evil.
