JAMMU, May 24: Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha today honoured representatives of various organizations and individuals for their active support in successful conduct of Bhagwan Parshuram Shobha Yatra, which was taken out last month.
An impressive function in this regard was organized at the Sabha premises near Chankya Chowk, Parade Ground Jammu. MLA Jammu East, Rajesh Gupta was chief guest on the occasion while MLC Ramesh Arora and senior BJP leader Chander Mohan Sharma were the guests of honour. Narayan Singh, president of Amar Kashtriya Rajput Sabha and Vinod Gupta, president of Central Mahajan Sabha, were the special guest.
On the occasion, mementoes were presented to the invited artists and representatives of different organizations, including Muslim Federation Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, president of Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha, V P Sharma said that honouring of various organizations for a common cause was aimed to create a sense of unity, for which Jammu people are always known. The way different Biradris, communities and market associations joined hands in successful conduct of the Shobha Yatra, is encouraging for everyone, he added.
MLA Rajesh Gupta, MLC Ramesh Arora, Narayan Singh, Vinod Gupta and Chander Mohan Sharma also spoke on the occasion.
Vote of thanks was presented by Satya Nand Sharma.
