Brahman Sabha, other organizations demand delimitation commission

JAMMU, Dec 25: Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha (DBPS), along with other social organizations here today urged the Prime Minister to review the so called resolution passed by previous regimes, stalling of the process for delimitation of assembly constituencies in J&K State.
Sabha leadership also said that this wrongly stalling of delimitation has not only discriminated the political class but had also evoked a sense of insecurity among the people of Jammu and Ladakh region.
“Considering the population, area, voter strength constituency-wise; Jammu and Ladakh regions were discriminated by delimitation resolution,” Ved Parkash Sharma, President DBPS said while addressing a meeting of Sabha members and activists of other social organization.
Speaking on the occasion, Advocate P.C Sharma said, those who are playing regional autonomy card are befooling the people of the State for their vested interest. Prominent social activist B.S Jamwal (retired Deputy Commissioner) while speaking on the occasion voiced for immediately setting up of review committee followed by delimitation commission to address the imbalance of population, voter strength in each constituencies of the State assembly.
Sabha Vice-President Virendar Mohan Magotra, Satyanand Sharma, Subash Shastri, Jagan Nath Sharma, Shiv Ram Sharma and others were also present in the meeting and demanded immediate constitution of minority commission for Jammu Kashmir.
Sabha President further announced that Sabha will celebrate the Jayanti of first Paramveer Chakar Vijayta, Shaheed Som Nath Sharma on January 31, 2019 with patriotic enthusiasm.
