Brahman Sabha seeks PM’s intervention for Dogri

JAMMU, July 21: Expressing deep concern over State Government’s move of converting 49 posts of Assistant Professor in Kashmiri for introducing this language as subject in Jammu College, Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha has sought intervention of the Prime Minister for re-conversion of these posts in Dogri and Sanskrit language.
People of Jammu will not tolerate this cultural aggression and step motherly treatment with Dogra. The order of converting 49 posts of Assistant Professors for Kashmiri Language is mischievous, arbitrary and domineering,” said Ved Parkash Sharma, president of Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha, while talking to media persons, here today.
He said that the situation has assumed explosive proportions and all apprehensions regarding discrimination with Jammu and ignoring the genuine causes of people of Dogri speaking areas have come true.
“More painful is the fact this is happening under the nose of self styled patriotic forces, in whom people of Jammu had unfortunately reposed faith in championing their cause,” Ved Sharma rued and urged the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to personally take stock of the developments and initiate prompt action to reconvert these posts immediately into Dogri and Sanskrit languages.
President of the Brahman Sabha also warned mass movement against the State Government if the controversial order on converting posts for Kashmiri language is not withdrawn immediately.
