Bridegroom arrested for ditching girl, family

JAMMU, Nov 19: Police today arrested a bridegroom for ditching a girl and her family members by hiding the facts of being early married.
As per reports, police team from Pacca Danga police station led by SHO Mahesh Sharma under the supervision of DySP Kulbir Handa and SP City Youghal Manhas arrested a bride groom—Neeraj Gupta, son of late Subash Chander, a resident of Nanak Nagar, who was running a basin factory at Gangyal for ditching a girl and her family members by hiding the facts of his being early married.
“Neeraj Gupta was supposed to marry the girl hailing from Jhullaka Mohalla yesterday, but the barat did not turn up as her first wife reached his residence after getting the information, about his second marriage and raised hue and cry. She also claimed that she had two children from Neeraj Gupta”, police said.
In this regard, a case under FIR number 193/13 under Section 405, 496, 511 and 109 RPC has been registered at Pacca Danga Police Station and investigation started.
It may be mentioned that, the bride along with her family kept on waiting for several hours at City Palace Kachi Chowni, but the barat did not turn up prompting the girl to lodge a complaint with police against the bridegroom and his family members.
