UDHAMPUR, Aug 23: Due to urgent repair work on 48.70 meter span motorable bridge over river Tawi at Chenani-Patangarh road in the district, the movement of the vehicular traffic will be affected and only transhipment movement possible.
According to the District Development Commissioner Udhampur, PK Pole, during necessary repairs, the bridge has to be dismantled and the transhipment movement of both passengers and goods vehicles will remain affected till repair of the bridge is completed. However, the transportation of the food grains and other goods will be possible through ponies for one hour in the forenoon and one hour in the afternoon only.
Meanwhile, as order of District Magistrate, Doda, Bharat road will remain closed for traffic from 10:00 AM to 4 PM for a week to facilitate laying of bitumen’s carpet (Black Top).
