LEH, May 22: Brig Deepak Sajjanhar, Group Commander, Srinagar Group NCC arrived at Leh to visit 1st Ladakh Battalion NCC, Leh today.
Brig Deepak visited Druk Padma Karpo School, Leh and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Leh and interacted with the NCC Cadets, ANOs and the head of the Institutes of these schools promote the National Cadet Corps (NCC) program. These visits aimed to highlight the benefits of NCC enrolment, encourage student participation, and underscore the importance of disciplined, community-oriented youth.
The campaign kicked off with an inspiring address at Leh’s prestigious Druk Padma Karpo School, where Group Commander emphasized how the NCC fosters leadership, discipline, and a sense of civic responsibility among young Indians. By engaging with the students of Leh, the NCC aims to nurture a generation that is both physically fit and mentally resilient, ready to serve the nation in various capacities.
Thereafter, Group Commander visited Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Leh.
During the school visits, interactive sessions were held where students participated and learned about the NCC’s diverse activities, from adventure training to social service. The sessions were designed to give students a firsthand experience of the camaraderie and skills that are integral to the NCC experience. He also interacted with school principals and local educational authorities to discuss ways to further integrate NCC activities into the school curriculum, ensuring sustained interest and participation.
Group Commander also took the opportunity to meet Vikram Malik, Secretary Youth Service & Sports under whom the NCC is Ladakh is flourishing. Both discussed the way forward to make NCC more vibrant in Ladakh.
Brig Deepak will also be visiting institutes in Kargil and also review the location and raising of a New NCC battalion in Kargil. Group Commander is also scheduled visit the Annual Training Camp being conducted for the first time in Kargil.
