JAMMU, Sept 9: Senior leader of J&K BJP, Brig (Retd) Anil Gupta has served a legal notice to Udhyanidhi Stalin, a Minister in Tamil Nadu Government and son of Chief Minister M K Stalin to deposit an amount of one thousand crore rupees to the PM Relief Fund for the latter’s alleged remarks against Sanatan Dharma and thus causing mental agony to the former.
Through his counsel, Brig Anil Gupta has claimed that the `derogatory’ remarks perpetuated by Udhyanidhi against the Sanatan Dharma and Sanatan Sanskriti during `Sanatana Abolition Conference’ on September 2, 2023 have hurt his religious sentiments, thus inviting penalization under section 295-A IPC, read with Section 500 and 506 IPC.
Explaining that Sanatan Dharma and Sanskriti are two interconnected concepts deeply rooted in Indian culture and philosophy, Brig Gupta has asserted that the statement of Udhyanidhi was baseless, far from truth, misleading, just intended to defame Sanatana and thus causing him mental trauma and agony in society, for ulterior motives.
“My client (Anil Gupta) is therefore, aggrieved of your (Udhyanidhi) acts of commission, which seriously harm the spiritual, religious and social image/reputation of Sanatan of which my client is a firm believer, to your effective knowledge,” reads the legal notice, served through Brig Gupta’s Counsel, Advocate Achyut Dubey.
“My client holds an important and responsible status and has suffered immense harm in mental harassment by yours’ reckless and malicious tirade defaming Sanatan by comparing it with Mosquito, malaria etc and needs to be eradicated to which my client acknowledges is an offence and does not get you any immunity from being prosecuted under criminal and civil law,” further reads the legal notice.
The legal notice conveys that Brig Anil Gupta shall have recourse to all the legal remedies available to him in the court of civil and criminal law if Udhyanidhi fails to deposit an amount of Rs 1000 crores in the Prime Minister Relief Fund ( to be used for the development of Sanatan Dharma) within a period of 10 days for the damage he has perpetuated.
